Section 03 — Plans & Contribution Calculator

Small weekly steps. Full term coverage.

Plans designed around how Nigerians actually earn — not how banks expect them to pay.

Calculator uses 11-week term and 3-month term models with a 3.5% service fee plus 7.5% VAT on that fee, added to each deposit at checkout. Any amount you pay in is charged the same way, whether it is a scheduled deposit or a one-off top-up. A one-off deposit of ₦2,000, for example, is charged ₦2,000 + ₦70 fee + ₦5.25 VAT = ₦2,075.25. Actual plans may vary slightly by school calendar.

Understanding the Contribution Structure

The model: Nigerian schools bill termly, so EduSure mirrors that exactly. Your child's term fee is divided evenly across the term's savings window — either as 11 equal weekly payments or 3 equal monthly payments. A 3.5% service fee, plus 7.5% VAT on that fee, is added on top of each deposit at the moment you pay, never taken out of it. The school always receives the full fee due.

There is no interest rate and no shortfall. You are simply saving your own school fees plus a small admin charge in regular amounts that match how you earn — and EduSure pays the full fee to the school at term start.

Frequently Asked Questions

How exactly is the contribution rate calculated?

Your child's term fee is divided evenly across the term's savings window. On every payment EduSure adds a 3.5% service fee and 7.5% VAT on that fee — added on top, never taken out of your savings. For a ₦45,000 term fee the charges are ₦1,575 service fee and ₦118.13 VAT, so ₦46,693.13 per term: ₦4,244.83 a week over 11 weeks, or ₦15,564.38 a month over 3 months. The same rate applies to a one-off top-up. There is no interest rate — you are saving your own school fees with a small service charge on each payment, and the school receives the full fee due.

What happens if I miss a payment?

Missed payments reduce your coverage proportionally. If you miss a week, your coverage drops by that week's amount. You can catch up in the same term or the next contribution cycle. Agents can help you recover via cash or POS at no extra cost. Your child's school place is protected as long as your cumulative contributions cover the term fees by the disbursement date.

When exactly does the school get paid?

EduSure disburses to schools at the start of each new term — before your child's first day. Disbursement is made directly to the school's CAC-verified bank account. Schools receive confirmation the same day, and you receive a receipt as well.

Is my money safe?

All pool funds are held in a supervised, ring-fenced account separate from EduSure's operating funds. The pool is managed under a transparent community savings structure, and every transaction is logged and visible to pool members. EduSure does not profit from pooled contributions — revenue comes from the 3.5% service fee added to each deposit, and from Skill Academy. VAT collected on that fee is remitted to the government and is not EduSure income.

What if I want to leave EduSure?

You can withdraw from the scheme before a disbursement date and receive your net contributions (minus administrative processing fee). Once disbursement has been made to your school, contributions for that term are non-refundable as they are already settled with the school.

Can I use an agent to make payments?

Yes. EduSure field agents operate in markets, churches, and community centres across Ibadan. They accept cash and POS payments which are logged immediately to your dashboard. There is no extra charge for using an agent.
